    Welcome to the official DB24 Installation Guide.
    This guide walks you through everything you need to prepare, install, and configure DB24 successfully in your environment.

    Before installing DB24, ensure that your environment meets all required prerequisites.

    🧪 Run the DB24 Environment Readiness Wizard

    We recommend always running the PreChecker before installation to verify that your environment is ready.

    The PreChecker:

    • Validates server configuration
    • Checks connectivity and permissions
    • Highlights unmet requirements before installation

    💾 Download the Installer

    • Always use the latest installer for new installations.
    • When adding a new Runtime without upgrading, you may use the installer version already running in your environment.

    🔐 License Key Information

    DB24 requires a valid license key for activation.

    • New customers:
      Contact sales@db24.ai to receive your license key.

    • Renewals:
      Contact your DB24 Customer Success Representative.

    Note:
    New DB24 versions may require updated license keys.
    Always verify license compatibility before upgrading.

    What to Expect

    1. Preparation

    • Ensure installation media and license key are available
    • Run the installer on the server that will host the DB24 Portal
      • Typically an IIS web server

    2. Installer Wizard Steps

    Installer Prerequisites

    The wizard installs required components and configures services and sites as needed.

    License Agreement

    Review and accept the license agreement to continue.

    Enter DB24 Serial Number

    Provide your valid license key.

    Reminder: Newer versions may require updated license keys.

    Connect to Your Datastore

    Enter connection details for the SQL Server instance that will host the centralized DB24 Datastore.

    First-Time Setup
    • Create the first Portal Administrator
    • Choose the IIS port for the Portal
    Add DB24 Runtimes

    Add and validate SQL Server instances.

    For new Runtimes, select the desired automation level:

    • Immediate automation
    • Monitoring only (automation enabled later)

    ➡️ Post-Installation Setup

    After installation, the DB24 Portal launches automatically.

    1. First Login

    • Sign in using your administrator account
    • A temporary password (password) is assigned
    • You will be prompted to change it on first login

    2. Initial Onboarding

    • Set your Organization Name
    • Configure and test Notification (SMTP) settings
      • Optional during onboarding
      • Can be configured later under Settings

    3. Enable TLS on the Portal

    We strongly recommend enabling TLS (HTTPS) using a valid certificate to secure Portal communication.
