   We walk through the findings with you: instances, versions, patch status, backup status and the main risks. You get the report from that session.

   You keep the report, whether or not you continue with DB24. Portal access continues only if you do.

## Common questions

### What do we need to install?

A runtime on each SQL Server instance, plus the DB24 portal and datastore on a Windows server in your environment. Sysadmin rights are only needed during installation. Nothing leaves your network, and we help you with the setup.

### Is it really free?

Yes. The health check is free and without obligation, and you keep the report whatever you decide afterwards.

### Our IT partner handles SQL Server, is this still relevant?

Yes. The check shows what happens between the times someone looks at the environment. Your partner keeps doing the project work.

### Does our data leave the environment?

No. DB24 collects metadata and performance data, and everything is stored in your own datastore.

### What happens after?

You decide. If you continue, DB24 is licensed per instance per year, with optional DB24+ service levels.

## Working with NIS2?

NIS2 asks you to prove that critical systems are patched, monitored and recoverable. A health check gives you a concrete baseline for SQL Server: what runs, which version, when it was last patched, and whether the backups work.
